Empirical provides higher education and other enterprise organizations with a purpose-built system of record for audio-visual technology infrastructure, empowering institutions to eliminate data silos, optimize their budgets, and plan for the future with confidence.
Our Story
I founded Empirical after 22 years in higher education AV and IT, supporting classrooms, venues, and events and deploying enterprise audio-visual infrastructure and SaaS-based services.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, my university faced the enormous challenge of converting all classes to hybrid delivery. Like many institutions we lacked insight into our classroom technology, how old it was, what it did, or if we could extend it to support hybrid. Because of the need for social distancing, we used every space at our disposal as a classroom. It was at this time that the seed for Empirical was planted.
After the pandemic, I developed an internal audio-visual installation service for my university. In so doing, I discovered a lack of tools capable of integrating project management, standards, inventory, and installation workflows into a single platform. At the same time, I was pursuing dual executive MBAs. My capstone project became the business plan for Empirical.
Post graduation, I switched my focus to developing the Empirical platform. Today, I am proud to share it with you.
